All students at Junior Academy are placed in one of four house teams: Hammil, Phelan, McClelland and Clarke. Throughout the year, there are a variety of house activities arranged by staff and House Captains – a position that students may wish to apply for in grades 6, 7 and 8. Students are encouraged to wear their house colours and dress up for some fun on house day events.
In addition, students receive house points for various good deeds that help promote the nurturing and family oriented culture of the school. These points are added together annually and culminate in the announcement of the overall house team winner.
Each Friday the school holds a full school assembly and each class has an award given for the ‘Student of the Week’ drawn from their House Point jar.
Intramurals run weekly on Thursdays throughout the school year.
Junior Academy is a co-ed, independent Toronto private school located on Bayview Avenue, two blocks south of York Mills Road.
