Child Counseling Services

Our in-house child counsellor works with students who are building skills related to anxiety, social skills, classroom readiness skills, regulation and trauma.

Our child counseling services incorporate evidence-based therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). CBT helps students identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviours, fostering improved emotional regulation and problem-solving skills. DBT focuses on teaching mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. Through these counseling methods, we support students in developing healthy coping strategies, enhancing their emotional well-being and resilience.

Child counselling services are available throughout the school day, in the classroom, at recess and in private one-to-one sessions. Our child counsellor is also available to provide parent coaching and home-based strategies to ensure both home and school are aligned.

Child Counselling Services are accessed privately.
