ABA Programming

Applied Behaviour Analysis is an evidence-based scientific approach that focuses on understanding how behaviour works and applying specific principles to increase helpful behaviours while decreasing harmful or disruptive ones. Our ABA program is designed to use positive reinforcement and task analysis to break down complex academic, social, and communication skills into smaller, manageable steps.

By integrating these tailored strategies directly into the classroom, playground and school environment, our therapy team helps students learn routines, build meaningful friendships, and express their needs effectively in real time. By using principles of reinforcement, our trained therapists help students develop essential skills, reduce problematic behaviour and increase positive social interactions. The individualized ABA therapy plans are tailored to each student’s unique needs, ensuring they receive the support necessary to thrive both academically and socially.

Behaviour Analyst and OAP Funding

Our ABA therapy team is supported and overseen by a Registered Behaviour Analyst who is stationed at Telus Health. Our R.B.A. (BCBA) ensures cohesive programming, age-appropriate goals and helps support families as they navigate ABA within the classroom, in our specialty programs or in pull-out skill acquisition sessions.

Members of our school community who have access to O.A.P. Funding (Ontario Autism Program) are able to use this funding for ABA services within the school. Students who utilize O.A.P. for ABA services within the school must be overseen by the Behaviour Analyst in order to have these services covered.
