Save the Date – Guest Speaker Jennifer Kolari
We are excited to have author and child and family therapist, Jennifer Kolari join us at Junior Academy on Monday, May 15 from 7:00 – 8:30 for a speaking engagement. Ms. Kolari is the author of Connected Parenting and You’re Ruining My Life (But Not Really). In addition to her writing, she coaches parents, teaches social skills and runs workshops. Junior Academy Cutlery Sets
Junior Academy cutlery sets, the perfect complement to The Lunch Club, are now available for purchase. Cutlery sets are $3.00 each and contain a knife, fork and spoon. (please see the attached photo) If you are interested in purchasing a cutlery set, please see Mr. Johnson or Mr. Bamberger in the office.
Parent – Teacher Conferences
Parent-Teacher Interviews will be occurring today from 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Please note, there is an early, staggered dismissal as described below. Interviews are scheduled in 15 minute blocks and teachers will be required to keep to their scheduled timeline so that the afternoon runs smoothly.
Kindergarten, Grades 1 and 2: dismissal at 1:50 p.m.
Grade 3 and 4: dismissal at 2:00 p.m.
Grades 5 to 8: dismissal at 2:10 p.m.

We are pleased to be offering a Monday and Wednesday homework club this term. If you would like to sign up for one or both of these days, please contact Mr. Bamberger. (firstname.lastname@example.org)
Blue Jays Day
Junior Academy has booked tickets to the Toronto Blue Jays School Day baseball game on Thursday, April 20th. Students will be supervised by six accompanying teachers. Students in Grades 5 – 8 are invited to attend and we have booked one bus for the trip. Attendees will be leaving the school at approximately 10:30 a.m. and returning at approximately 4:15 p.m. Tickets are $25.00 each and they will be sold on a first come first served basis. The registration form was sent home last Friday and is due back by today, April 12th. At the end of the day, remaining tickets will be made available to grade 4 and grade 3.
This year’s Spring Concert will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2017 and the theme will be A Celebration of Sound and Colour.. If you able to help up us, with set-up, decorating or picking-up supplies, please let the office know. More details about the evening and ticket sales are coming soon!
If you ordered school photos, print orders will be sent home with students on April 21st and all students will receive a class picture. Kelly Moss Photography will be returning to Junior Academy on Friday, April 28th from 10:00 – 12:00 to take photos of new staff and students.
